Dr. Luis Eduardo Pérez Murcia

Curriculum Vitae

Luis Eduardo Pérez Murcia is a Writing Fellow in the research group “Ageing in a Time of Mobility” led by Dr. Megha Amrith. Luis Eduardo holds a PhD in Development Studies from the Global Development Institute at the University of Manchester and between 2018 and 2021 held a post-doctoral fellowship at the HOMInG Project, University of Trento. His research interests include home and homemaking, conflict-induced displacement, migration and mobilities, ageing and narrative research. Luis Eduardo is the co-author and co-editor of Finding Home in Europe: Chronicles of Global Migrants’ (with S. Bonfanti, Berghahn, 2023) and co-editor of Thinking home on the move’ (with P. Boccagni and M. Belloni, Emerald, 2020).

His research has been published in academic journals including Migration Studies, Journal of Refugees Studies, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Global Networks, Journal of Intercultural Studies, and Refugee Survey Quarterly. Prior to joining MPI-MMG Luis Eduardo was lecturing on Migration and Development and Migration, Mobilities and Displacement at the University of Manchester.
