Dr. Victoria Kumala Sakti

Vita

Victoria Kumala Sakti ist seit Mai 2018 Postdoktorandin in der Max-Planck-Forschungsgruppe "Altern in Zeiten der Mobilität" des Max-Planck-Instituts zur Erforschung multireligiöser und multiethnischer Gesellschaften. Mit einer Doktorarbeit in Sozial- und Kulturanthropologie – eine ethnographische Fallstudie darüber, wie Gemeinschaften in Timor-Leste mit Erinnerungen an Gewalt und Hinterlassenschaften der indonesischen Besatzung umgehen – hat sie sich an der Freien Universität Berlin promoviert. Ihre Forschungsinteressen umfassen Emotionen, Erinnerung, transnationale und erzwungene Migration, soziale Beziehungen, Resilienz, Gerechtigkeit und Versöhnung. Ihre Arbeit mit vertriebenen Gemeinschaften und Überlebenden von Gewalt geht über den akademischen Bereich hinaus. Seit 2004 arbeitet sie zu diesen Themen mit verschiedenen Nichtregierungsorganisationen in Indonesien und Deutschland. Ihre Arbeit wurde in akademischen Zeitschriften wie The Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology und Social Identities sowie in interdisziplinären Sammelbänden veröffentlicht. Sie hat einen M.A. in Theory and Practice of Human Rights von der University of Essex, Großbritannien, und einen B.A. in Psychologie von der Atma Jaya Catholic University, Indonesien.
