Stefan Binder

Stefan Binder graduated in 2011 from Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München in the fields of religious studies, cultural anthropology and Indology. His master thesis analyses processes of subject formation in meditation techniques of 'Western Buddhists.‘ He started his PhD project at Utrecht University in 2012. He works on organized atheism in South India (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) with a particular interest in an "aesthetic“ approach to the practical and embodied aspects of everyday atheism ranging from oratorical propagation to miracle exposure programs, beef and pork parties, or marriage practices.
