Luis Eduardo Pérez Murcia ist Writing Fellow in der Forschungsgruppe "Ageing in a Time of Mobility" unter der Leitung von Dr. Megha Amrith. Luis Eduardo hat am Global Development Institute der Universität Manchester in Entwicklungsstudien promoviert und war von 2018 bis 2021 Postdoc-Stipendiat am HOMInG-Projekt der Universität Trient. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen Heim und Heimarbeit, konfliktbedingte Vertreibung, Migration und Mobilität, Altern und narrative Forschung. Luis Eduardo ist Mitautor und Mitherausgeber von Finding Home in Europe: Chronicles of Global Migrants’ (mit S. Bonfanti, Berghahn, 2023) und Mitherausgeber von Thinking home on the move’ (mit P. Boccagni und M. Belloni, Emerald, 2020).
Seine Forschungsergebnisse wurden in akademischen Fachzeitschriften wie Migration Studies, Journal of Refugees Studies, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies, Global Networks, Journal of Intercultural Studies und Refugee Survey Quarterly veröffentlicht. Bevor er an das MPI-MMG kam, unterrichtete Luis Eduardo an der Universität von Manchester die Fächer Migration und Entwicklung sowie Migration, Mobilitäten und Vertreibung.
