Kaat van Acker now works as a psychologist at Psygroup in Brussels.
Kaat Van Acker was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity. Kaat studied psychology at the University of Leuven in 2008 and obtained her PhD from the same university in 2012. She has been a fellow of the Flemish Research Foundation (2008-2012).
Her interests lie broadly in the field of intergroup relations. Topics of research are acculturation, intergroup contact, intergroup threat, multiculturalism, social identity, historical representations and collective emotions.
