Volkan Aytar
Curriculum Vitae
As a Fulbright scholar, Volkan Aytar received a M.A. degree in Sociology and a Certificate in Global Studies from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton. He taught at Sabanci and Bahcesehir Universities in Istanbul. Between 2004 and 2009, he was an administrator and researcher at the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV). He is an Editorial Board member of Istanbul Journal of Urban Culture and project advisor of the European Media and Cultural Studies (EMCS) M.A. Program established jointly with Bahcesehir University, Potsdam University and Potsdam Technology University in Berlin. At the University of Amsterdam - Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies (IMES), he is working on his doctoral dissertation on entertainment and leisure consumption in Istanbul.
