Dr. Ali Emre Benli, 2019-2020

Curriculum Vitae

Ali Emre studied philosophy at Bogazici University in Istanbul and holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He obtained his Ph.D. in Political Theory from LUISS University in Rome, Italy (2016). Since then, he has held research positions at the University of Rijeka, the Italian National Research Council, Durham University, the University of Louvain, and the University of Edinburgh. He is an Associate Researcher at the Center for Ethics, Politics, and Society at the University of Minho. He has taught courses on the Ethics of Immigration (2017) and Ideal of Democracy (2019) as a Visiting Lecturer at Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Global Ethics, Glocalism, and Diacritica. He is also the Co-Editor of the collection Claiming Citizenship Rights in Europe (2018) published by Routledge.
