Da Wu received his MPhil and Ph.D. degrees in Cultural Anthropology from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was an Assistant Researcher Fellow in the Chinese Academic of Social Sciences from 1989 to 1998. He has been with Shanghai University since 2008.
