Using new data sources and visualization techniques, Prof. Vertovec describes the diversification and complexification of contemporary global migration flows. Such patterns, examined through statistics spanning the last four decades, indicate differential national patterns of ‘super-diversity’. Such differential trends are also relevant to migration processes concerning cities around the world.

With reference to such ongoing trends of diversification and complexification at various scales, Prof. Vertovec suggests a number of implications for social science and public policy.
