Dr. Hanna Carlsson
Curriculum Vitae
Hanna Carlsson was a guest at the institute in October and November 2023. Hanna is an Assistant Professor of Public Administration at Radboud University in Nijmegen, the Netherlands. She is affiliated with the Radboud Network of Migrant Inclusion (RUNOMI) and a board member of the European Network of Intercultural Elderly Care (ENIEC). Her work focuses on social inequality and migration-related diversity in transforming welfare states. Speaking to interdisciplinary debates, Hanna has published her work in journals like Ageing and Society and the Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies.
In 2022, Hanna successfully defended her PhD (Cum Laude). In her doctoral project, she examined how municipalities respond to older migrants’ care needs in times of post-multiculturalism and localism. In her postdoc, she investigated differences in trust in home care provision among a super diverse sample of community-dwelling older people in Amsterdam. During her time as visiting scholar, Hanna will develop her next project, which focuses on how migrant care entrepreneurs negotiate representations of and responses to migration-related diversity in the health and social care domain in different European welfare states.
