Dr. Gregor Schäfer

Gregor Schäfer was a guest in 2024. Gregor is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen in the project “SkillsINCORP – ensuring retention of high-skilled professionals in Denmark”. His research interest spans from horizontal Europeanisations processes, over international student mobility, the tension of nationalism and globalism in higher education and migration, social distinction and social stratification, to high-skilled migration and new forms of social integration and incorporation among contemporary groups of migrants. His current research specifically examines how high-skilled migrants in Denmark relate to their new professional and social environments, taking into account their specific spatiality, temporality and fluidity with the long-term aim to develop a new approach to study high-skilled migrants and their incorporation.
