Melike Özlem Uygun

Melike Özlem Uygun is a guest in 2025. She is currently pursuing her PhD in the Department of Sociology at Pamukkale University, in Türkiye. Her doctoral research focuses on the everyday life practices and aging experiences of elderly Turkish migrants living in Germany. Her research interests include the sociology of aging, everyday life sociology, and migration sociology.

She completed her MA in Sociology at Izmir Katip Çelebi University, where she wrote her thesis titled 'Daily Life Experiences and Coping Strategies of Aging Women Living Alone: The Case of Çorum Province’ (2022). In this study, she examined the experiences of women living alone in old age, the difficulties they face in their daily lives, and the coping strategies they develop to deal with these challenges. She also holds a BA in Sociology from Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and a BA in International Relations from Anadolu University.
