Curriculum Vitae
Laavanya Kathiravelu is now Assistant Professor at the Division of Sociology, Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
Laavanya Kathiravelu was a postdoctoral research fellow and an associate researcher at the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore. Working within the Globaldivercities project, her research has concerned issues of migration and super-diversity in the city-state of Singapore. Her previous work explored labour migration and city-building in the emirate of Dubai. Laavy’s research interests include ethnographies of the everyday, diaspora, migration and global cities in the South. She has lectured in universities in Sydney, Singapore and Dubai.
