Ida Charlotte Erstad is a doctoral student at the Department of Social Anthropology, University of Oslo.
Her PhD project deals with parenthood in an ethnically diverse area of Oslo, where she seeks to explore linkages between the practice of parenthood, and participation and belonging. In addition to a focus on diversity in a specific place, she also focuses on a specific group, Norwegian Pakistanis - living their lives in a diverse area. Ida has conducted fieldwork in Norway and Pakistan. Her supervisor is Thomas Hylland Eriksen.
