Binary dreams: creative success and failure in Beijing’s internet industry

Samuel Lengen’s Ph.D. project ethnographically explored connections between IT entrepreneurship and online media production in Beijing’s Internet industry. In particular, it examined how entrepreneurial efforts draw on digital media to mediate and materialize gender, creativity, and mobility in their efforts to captivate online users and consumers.
