Subjective perception and processing of social inequality: the emergence of interpretative patterns related to the social structure
Margherita Cusmano explores in her doctoral research project how people subjectively perceive the German social structure and how they position themselves therein. The project raises the question of the processes contributing to the emergence of specific interpretive patterns related to the social structure, social inequality, and social mobility. It aims to analyze why some inequalities are perceived as social, yet others as natural. In this context, she not only takes into account cognitive and evaluative aspects, but also the emotional processing of social inequality during the life course.
