Curriculum Vitae

Salvador Santino Regilme Jr. (b. 1986) is an Assistant Professor of International Relations (Universitair Docent with tenure) at the Institute for History of Leiden University, The Netherlands. He is the co-editor of American Hegemony and the Rise of Emerging Powers (Routledge, 2017) and the author of peer-reviewed articles in International Studies Perspectives, International Political Science Review, and Human Rights Review, among others. He holds a joint PhD in Political Science and North American Studies from the Freie Universität Berlin. He was educated at the Freie Universität Berlin, Yale, Osnabrück, and Göttingen. He just recently finished his book manuscript that focuses on the impact of United States foreign aid and diplomacy on human rights and state repression in the Global South. At the Max Planck Institute, his research focuses on the role of oligarchs in shaping constitutional orders and human rights discourses.
