Annika Kirbis

Annika Kirbis was a Doctoral Research Fellow in the “Empires of Memory” Research Group from 2016 until 2022 and a Ph.D. candidate at the Institute for Cultural Inquiry at Utrecht University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and International Organization at the University of Groningen, Netherlands, and the University of Pretoria, South Africa (2013), followed by her Master’s studies in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna, Austria, and University of Maynooth, Ireland (2016). Her interdisciplinary research draws on critical heritage studies and memory studies, urban studies, environmental humanities, and post-humanism.
