Curriculum Vitae

Noor Amr is a guest from October 2022 until September 2024. Noor is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University. During her stay, she will be conducting ethnographic research on church asylum for rejected asylum-seekers in Germany, paying attention to the relationship between migration, Christianity, sovereignty, and political belonging. Noor holds an M.T.S. in Philosophy of Religion from Harvard Divinity School, where she was a Dean’s Fellow, and a B.A. in Politics from Willamette University. Her current research is supported by the National Science Foundation, Wenner-Gren Foundation, and Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
