Noor Amr

Vita

Noor Amr is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University. During her stay, she will be conducting ethnographic research on church asylum for rejected asylum-seekers in Germany, paying attention to the relationship between migration, Christianity, sovereignty, and political belonging. At Stanford, Noor coordinates an interdisciplinary research workshop, “Concerning Violence: A Collaborative Research Group.” She holds an M.T.S. in Philosophy of Religion from Harvard Divinity School, where she was a Dean’s Fellow, as well as a B.A. in Politics from Willamette University. Her current research is generously supported by the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD).
