Curriculum Vitae
Subashini Gordon is a guest in 2024. Subashini is currently
enjoying working on the BUSSIN (Building Global South South Solidarities
to Address Inequities) Archive Project as a Post Doctoral Research
Associate. The project is led by Dr. Geetha Reddy of The Open University
(UK). The project focuses on the decoloniality of time and the body by
exploring colonially constructed archival material of Indian indentured
labourers. The intention is to redress generational inequities and
foster long-term solidarities between communities in South Africa and
Malaysia.
Previously, Subashini worked
as a Post Doctoral Research Fellow on the Andrew. W. Mellon Spatial
Humanities Project at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Subashini
has a Master’s (2011) and PhD in Sociology from UKZN (2023). Her
doctoral research focused on transnationalism, identity, and notions of
‘home’ of South Africans of Indian descent living in Australia.
