Paul Becker, 2011-2016

Curriculum Vitae

Paul Becker was working towards his Ph.D. at the Georg-August Universität Göttingen and was a member of the MaxNetAging Program of the Max Planck Society. He was affiliated with MPI-MMG and the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Rostock. He holds an MA in Eastern European Studies, political science, and sociology from the Freie Universität Berlin. Paul’s research in Moscow (the Russian Federation) focused on migrants’ and refugees’ interactions with the formal and informal state. His current research interests include the topics of migration, informality, and corruption, ethnic discrimination and the strategies of migrants in emerging economies with a high share of the informal state.
