Anna Jacobsen received her Ph.D. (2011) in Anthropology from Washington University, St. Louis. Her thesis is titled ‘Making Moral Worlds: Individual and Social Processes of Meaning-Making in a Somali Diaspora’. Anna Jacobsen’s research interests focus on forced migration and refugees, Islam, morality, social and religious healing, individual and collective remembering, transnationalism, diasporas, statelessness, Somalia, Kenya. At MPI-MMG she was working on migration and refugees in former Yugoslavia.
