Innovation and entrepreneurship are key for highly developed market economies which suffer from a lack of new business models and struggle with demographic aging and a limited talent pool. This study examines Tokyo and Singapore as case studies for the challenge to develop entrepreneurial ecosystems in societies known for risk-aversion and high status of corporate employment but also for constituting opposite poles at the two ends of multicultural and ethnocentric society models.
