Dr. Jie Kang

Jie Kang ist verantwortlich für die Pflege des MMG-Alumni-Netzwerks und die Organisation von Alumni-Aktivitäten, darunter die Alumni-Stunde und Alumni-Treffen. Außerdem ist sie Mitglied des Ethikausschusses des MMG. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte sind zeitgenössische chinesische christliche Gemeinschaften, religiöse Netzwerke, die interaktive Beziehung zwischen dem säkularen Staat und religiösen Gruppen, die interreligiöse Begegnung zwischen Christentum und Islam sowie die Rolle der christlichen Missionsbewegung "Zurück nach Jerusalem". Im Jahr 2014 promovierte sie in Sinologie an der Universität Leipzig. Von 2013 bis 2021 arbeitete Jie Kang als Projektkoordinatorin für verschiedene Forschungsprojekte mit Schwerpunkt China und Asien in der ehemaligen Abteilung für Religiöse Vielfalt am MMG. Sie ist Autorin des Buches "House Church Christianity in China: From Rural Preachers to City Pastors", das 2016 bei Palgrave erschienen ist. Außerdem ist sie Mitherausgeberin des Buches "The Nation Form in the Global Age: Ethnographic Perspectives" (2021) mit Irfan Ahmad. Im Allgemeinen interessiert sich Jie Kang für transnationale chinesische religiöse Netzwerke, die Beziehungen zwischen Staat und Kirche und das komplizierte Zusammenspiel von Religion, Nationalismus, Säkularismus und Globalisierung.
