Vita

Samuel Sami Everett (genannt Sami) war Research Fellow in der Abteilung für soziokulturelle Vielfalt. Er war Forschungskoordinator für die länderübergreifende (Frankreich-Deutschland-Großbritannien) ethnografische Forschung im Rahmen des ORA Joint Research Project "Muslim-Jewish encounter, diversity & distance in urban Europe: Religion, culture and social model (ENCOUNTERS)". Er hat einen Doktortitel in Politik von der SOAS, Universität London, und einen BA in nordafrikanischer Sprache und Kultur von INALCO, Paris. Seine Forschung konzentriert sich auf die historisch-kolonialen und räumlich-politischen Dimensionen der jüdischen und muslimischen Identifikation. Seine Forschungsinteressen umfassen Geschichte, Ethnologie und Kultur. Seine Arbeit bewegt sich zwischen nordafrikanischen, nahöstlichen, jüdischen und islamischen Studien zur Diaspora, dynamischen interreligiösen Interaktionen und Migrationsverläufen. Er nutzt digitale Geisteswissenschaften und wurde in Cambridge mit dem Cambridge University Press Prize for Excellence in Technology Enabled Learning für seinen Online-Kurs über ethnografische Methoden 2020-21 ausgezeichnet. Sami war von 2017 bis 2020 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (CRASSH) der Universität Cambridge.
